1000km yak fishing expedition date set

It completely slipped my mind to mention that I have now set a firm date for the launch of my upcoming 1000km solo kayak fishing expedition, being 14th of July. Hopefully I'll be sliding my heavily laden AI into the waters off Yeppoon where I'll bid farewell to Shep and will then sail to the north with lures trailing behind. Providing all goes well I will meet up with Shep several times along the way and if weather permits, I'm hoping to sail, fish, camp, beach and island hop all the way to Townsville.

It could take as little as 2 weeks, though I'm anticipating more like 3, perhaps even 4. However long it takes, I just can't wait to get started! Most of my prep is done, save for final food provisioning and navigational research, which I plan to fit into the next few weeks.

I have pretty much all the gear in place (tackle & fishing equipment, as well as camping and photography/video kit) with the only omission from my 'ideal' load out being a navionics card. Both of my Lowrance devices (sounder/chartplotter & GPS) only accept mini SD card versions, whereas I only have an SD card version, making it pretty much useless to me. I'd go out and buy a new one, but I simply can't afford to at this point so I'll be doing this primarily via pre-programmed GPS marks, basic paper maps and a compass.
